The Barometer as a Measure of Gravitational Force

Consequently, the Barometer could then be seen as a measure of gravitational force – at least arguably, anyhow.

When seeking a thicker atmosphere…

If one were to desire a ‘thicker’ atmosphere for any given planet, so to speak, it would seem that such an end could be accomplished by merely increasing the gravitational force for the aforementioned planet.  However, as for the side-effects/externalities of such an endeavor, well…
